Worst ever. I have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years. But this time was the worst ever, any where. Thanksgiving night 2019

When I'm craving some Homestyle Cantonese Chinese food & don't have much $ to spend - this is where I go. Like many Yelpers, I love their Deep Fried dishes, Eggplant, & Chow Mein. My only complaint is that it can be too oily, even when I've asked for less oil. If they are super busy, Service can be spotty. Looking forward to trying more dishes here. Perfect for Take-Out Orders. Good value, good serving portions, & tasty food.

This place is kinda like a diamond in the rough. The food has always been great. The staff is always friendly. A little crowded at times but not too much.

The reason for this restaurant not getting a five star is because they didn't turn on the air conditioning.Other than the above reasons, it deserve at least 4 and 1/2 stars.Even though there are many customers waiting but the food comes out fairly fast. The food is delicious and reasonable priced, the portion is sufficient and the establishment looks cleaner than their counterparts. If you have a party of six, you can order six dishes with about $40 total and I think you should have plenty left for another meal you could bag it home with.

This is my first visit to this restaurant and I must say, this is one of the great Chinese restaurants in Fremont. Food is very tasty and ambiance is good. There are not a plenty of Vegetarian choices, but, the collection is decent enough. Egg Plant and String Bean dishes are very good. Generally, Chinese Restaurants have a gloomy atmosphere but, the lighting in this restaurant is very good.Customer service is not of high standard but, decent enough. I would certainly go back to this restaurant.

I can't believe it took me 6 months to finish this review. Since then, I've frequented this restaurant many times and my thoughts have not since changed.A hole in the wall, but there is a serious chef working in the kitchens. You can order really great Chinese food and it would be a crime not to have leftovers. My tried and true favorite is the stir fried garlic eggplant. It's a healthy vegetable isn't it? True it its name, it is deep fried and doused in a chili garlic bath and smothered with so much goodness that my heart can't handle. It is a MUST HAVE dish. No doubt. I haven't had eggplant that good anywhere else yet.Unpack your takeout boxes, take a pair of chopsticks (or fork), grab a beer and crawl back with your snuggie and watch episode upon episode of your favorite crime drama. Just like a movie.

Came for dinner and got the 3 for $18.Beef stew clay pot - 5/5. Definitely a fan of the dish - very flavorful. The dish came with a pleasant surprise (potatoes!). I would have no hesitation ordering this again, making this a staple of my (hopefully) soon to be found three-dish trifecta at New Yong Kang.Fried fish with garlic sauce - 3/5. Deep-fried slivers of fish cooked perfectly, served chestnuts and drizzled in a garlic sauce. Defintely enjoyed the contrasts of the crunchy chestnuts and the soft meat of the fish. However, it didn't quite hit the spot for me (this time). Perhaps another day when another craving manifests itself.Pan fried beef with chili peppers - 3/5. Exactly what it sounds like - strips of beef that have been pan fried with chili peppers to give your mouth a kick. The balance of heat and meat was done very well as the heat from the peppers did not overpower the meat. Definitely leaves your mouth tingling afterward :]

I call this restaurant "that crazy Chinese place," first for its price: three dishes for $18, and soup comes if you go there early enough. With more customers later in the evening, scene is crazy: really noisy (especially in the smaller room), a running (literally) waiter and a shouting hostess. It is a good place to get good food at a decent price, but not a place to sit down and relax to enjoy the meal.Pictures on the menu are very helpful. But I also have seen other customers eating something not on the menu and wondered how they can order these.

This is by far one of my most favorite Chinese restaurants. Value and wonderful food are just two reasons why I love New Yong Kang.
